POS System

  • Red Lobster has a very large network of restaurants so they need a system that can manage all their orders, payments, and data collection at every location they own. While also trying to manage the shipping of products, employee payrolls, etc.
  • Often what will occur in the workplace is called Information silos, which means when systems are unable to communicate or connect with each other. Often times POS systems do not work inside of the kitchen causing orders to be prepared correctly or not at all. This will slow down the process in the kitchen cause a backlog of orders and create an overall bad experience for the customer.
  • There will also be issues if servers manually input the wrong information. This would cause managers to speak directly to the cook to correct the order, the merchandise at hand will not be reflected correctly on inventory and this will affect the numbers.

Supply Chain System

  • For Red Lobster to continue producing and sourcing their broad range to invest more in a supply chain system. The supervisor of each store would have their own task of keeping relationships with existing or potential suppliers, purchasing products, and logistics.

  • Having this as an option could limit delays or backed deliveries for orders due to not being able to reach higher-ups for the shipments. Also the higher-ups not knowing what is required at the store due to not being there all the time.
